Which Aluminium Door Suits Which Opening?
For a wide opening to the deck, an aluminium bifold door folds back like a concertina, so almost the whole opening clears. A sliding door runs one glass panel past another on a track. A casement door, hinged down one side, suits a single doorway. A pivot door turns on pins at the top and bottom, for the front entry. We supply and fit aluminium doors across Melbourne's south and east, and we measure every opening ourselves before we quote.

Glass In A Door
AS 1288, the Australian Standard for glass in buildings, sets where safety glass must go, and doors are one of those places. Laminated glass is one kind of safety glass.
You choose the glass. Low-E glass has a thin coating that reflects heat, and argon filled glass has a heavy gas sealed in the gap between the panes. Laminated glass holds together if it breaks, acoustic glass is laminated with a layer that damps sound, and tinted glass cuts glare. Our guide to glass options for double glazing explains each one.
Standards, Timing And Price
Our sliding, bifold and casement doors are supplied to AS 2047 and AS 1288, and certification is available on request. They go in 8 to 10 weeks after you sign off the drawings. We price them on their size in square metres, and our double glazing cost guide explains how.
A pivot door is quoted on its design, size, finish, glazing and hardware, and what applies to it under the Standards is confirmed on your quote.
