What Is A Pivot Door?
A pivot door turns on two pins instead of hinges down one side. One pin is set into the floor and one into the top of the frame. The pins sit in from the edge of the door, so as it opens, part of the door swings in and part swings out. Ours come from our entry door collection and are made to the size of your opening. We measure and fit pivot doors for homes in Melbourne's south and east.

Drag the slider or press the button. The top drawing is the door from inside your hallway, and the one under it is the same door from above. The two dots are the pins.

Two Pins, No Side Hinges
One pin is set into the floor and one into the top of the frame.
- 02
It Turns On The Pins
The whole door turns on the line between the two pins.
- 03
Part In, Part Out
On most pivot doors the pins sit in from the edge, so part of the door swings in and part swings out. Where the pins go on yours is set on your quote.
Made To Your Opening
Each door is made to the size and layout of your opening. You choose the rest.
Your Size
We measure your opening ourselves before the door is made.
Your Finish
Powder coat, a baked-on paint, in a colour from our range, or one of our feature finishes, confirmed on your quote.
Your Handle
You pick the pull handle and the hardware that goes with it.
Your Glass
Glass in the door itself, or in sidelights and transoms. AS 1288, the Standard for glass, sets where safety glass must go.
Five Pivot Designs
Our entry door collection has single, double, pivot and sidelight designs. These are the five pivot ones. Pick one, then add a sidelight, a narrow fixed glass panel beside the door, or a transom, a fixed panel over it.

Add glass
Each design starts from a concept picture. The final proportions, materials, colours, hardware and glass are confirmed on your quote. Name the design you like in the notes box on the quote form.
Our Pivot Doors Are Handmade
Our pivot doors are handmade. That means there can be small imperfections in the finish, the kind you'd expect from something made by hand.
Ask us about the finish when we measure, so you know what to expect before you order.
Measured And Installed By Us
We measure every job ourselves, and our install team fits the door. The sizing, hardware and installation needs for your door are confirmed on the quote.
Where they apply, our products and glazing are supplied to AS 1288, AS 2047, AS/NZS 2208 and AS 4666. What applies to your door is confirmed on the quote. Our guide to glass options for double glazing explains the glass types.

How Does A Pivot Door Open?

Are Your Pivot Doors Made To Size?
Yes. Each one is made to the size and layout of your opening.
Will My Door Look Exactly Like The Collection?
Not exactly. The collection pictures are concepts, and your door's proportions, colours, hardware and glass are settled on your quote.
Our pivot doors are handmade, so there can be small imperfections in the finish.
Can I Add Glass Beside Or Over The Door?
Yes. Sidelights, narrow glass panels beside the door, and transoms, fixed panels over it, are both options.
