Value Double Glazing Melbourne

Double Glazed Awning Windows Melbourne

An awning window is hinged along the top and pushed out from the bottom, so it sits open like a small awning.

We supply them double glazed in aluminium, including the ML102-TB, which has a thermal break, an insulating strip through the frame. Our own team installs them.

What Is An Awning Window?

An awning window is hinged along its top edge and opens outwards from the bottom, usually with a winder, a small crank handle. Ours are aluminium and double glazed, in three series: ML86 residential, ML102 commercial and ML102-TB. The ML102-TB has a thermal break, an insulating strip through the frame. We measure and fit awning windows in homes across Melbourne's south and east.

See How An Awning Window Opens

Drag the slider or press the button. The top drawing is the window from inside, and the one under it is the same window from the side.

A winder is easy to turn from behind a kitchen bench or across a bath. Pushing a sliding window open there would mean leaning right over.

    Hinged Along The Top

The hinge runs along the top of the frame.

  2. 02

    Turn The Winder

The bottom of the window swings out as you turn it, and the top edge stays held in the frame.

It Leans Out Like An Awning

When it's open, the glass leans out over the gap like an awning over a shop door, which is where the name comes from.

  • Your Choice Of Glass

You choose the glass. Low-E glass has a thin coating that reflects heat, and argon filled glass has a heavy gas sealed in the gap between the panes. Laminated glass holds together if it breaks, acoustic glass is laminated with a layer that damps sound, and tinted glass cuts glare. Our guide to glass options for double glazing explains each one.

  • Stainless Steel Fly Screens

Our fly screens are stainless steel mesh, stronger than standard fly screen mesh.
