How Long Does Window Replacement Take?
Window replacement with us has two timelines. The new windows go in 8 to 10 weeks after you sign off the drawings, and we confirm the timing on your quote. On site, a renovation with 25 windows usually takes our install team 3 to 4 days. A new build takes about a day to a day and a half. We do window replacement in Melbourne's south and east, and on the Mornington Peninsula.

Why Choose Us For Window Replacement In Melbourne
We Measure Every Window
We come out and measure every window and door on the job ourselves. You don't need to measure anything to get a ballpark.
Our Own Team Installs Them
Our install team fits your windows and doors, usually 8 to 10 weeks after you sign off the drawings. We confirm the timing on your quote.
A Ballpark From Your Photos
Send your window and door count, your suburb and a few photos. We work out a rough price on the size of your windows in square metres.
Supplied To AS 2047 And AS 1288
Our windows are supplied to AS 2047 and AS 1288, and certification is available on request.
We Replace The Whole Window
We replace the whole window, frame and glass together, rather than putting new glass into your old frames. The old window comes out, and a new aluminium window with double glazing goes into the opening.
That way the frame is new as well as the glass. If you choose ML102-TB awning windows, the new frame has a thermal break, an insulating strip through the metal. Here's how thermally broken windows work. Replacing the whole window is one kind of retrofit double glazing.
Most of our jobs are whole houses, where every window is replaced. One room, a few windows or one sliding door is fine too, and plenty of people start there.

Why We Measure Every Window
Each new window is made to fit its opening, so we measure every one ourselves before anything is ordered.
You don't need to measure anything to get a ballpark. The count, your suburb and a few photos are enough to start.
Choosing Your New Windows
Replacing a window means choosing three things: how it opens, the frame and the glass.
How It Opens
Awning windows are hinged at the top, sliding windows slide across on a track, and casement windows swing out from the side.
The Frame
Every frame is aluminium, in the ML86, ML102 or ML102-TB series. ML102-TB is the thermally broken one, and in windows it comes as an awning window.
The Glass
Every window is double glazed. You choose the glass. Low-E glass has a thin coating that reflects heat, and argon filled glass has a heavy gas sealed in the gap between the panes. Laminated glass holds together if it breaks, acoustic glass is laminated with a layer that damps sound, and tinted glass cuts glare. Our guide to glass options for double glazing explains each one.
Approvals Before We Start
You don't need council approval for like-for-like replacement, which means new windows going into the same openings as the old ones.
The exception is a home under a heritage overlay, a council rule that protects how older buildings and streets look. Under Clause 43.01 of the Victorian Planning Provisions, you need a permit to change the outside of a building in an overlay. That normally covers replacing windows. Your council can tell you if your home has one.
In an apartment or strata building, the body corporate, the owners group that runs the building, may need to approve the work before we start.
Window Installers Across South And East Melbourne
Our install team works across south and east Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. We don't cover the western suburbs.
Apartments and strata buildings are fine, and so are new builds for small builders and owner-builders.
How The Price Is Worked Out
We price replacement windows on their size in square metres, and the price is confirmed on your quote after we measure. Our double glazing cost guide explains how the price is worked out.

Window Replacement Questions
Do You Replace The Frames Or Just The Glass?
The whole window, frame and glass together. The new window is double glazed aluminium, and it goes into the opening the old one came out of.
Do You Replace Doors As Well?
Yes. We replace sliding, bifold and casement doors along with the windows, and we make pivot doors to size for the front of the house.
Do I Need Council Approval To Replace My Windows?
Not for like-for-like replacement, which means new windows going into the same openings as the old ones.
The exception is a home under a heritage overlay, a council rule that protects how older buildings and streets look. Those homes usually need a council permit, and your council can tell you if yours has one.
Can You Replace Windows In An Apartment?
Yes. Apartments and strata buildings are fine. The body corporate, the owners group that runs the building, may need to approve the work before we start.
