How We Work Out Your Price
Your price comes from the size of your windows and doors, measured in square metres. A square metre is a square one metre along each side, about the size of a small table top.
- Width×Height=The size of one window
- Add up every window and door=Your total size
- Your total size×Our price per square metre=Your price
For thermally broken windows it's about $600 a square metre. The final price is confirmed on your quote after we measure.
Bigger Windows Cost More
Because we price on size, a big door adds a lot more to your total than a small window. A whole house adds up to more than one room, so the total grows with the count too.
Pivot front doors are the exception. They're quoted on their design, size, finish, glass and handles.
- Small bathroom window0.6 m × 0.9 m0.54 m²
- Bedroom window1.2 m × 1.5 m1.8 m²
- Sliding door2.4 m × 2.1 m5.04 m²
- Bifold door3.6 m × 2.1 m7.56 m²
Work Out Your Square Metres
You don't need to measure anything to get a ballpark, because we measure every window ourselves before anything is ordered. If you'd like a rough figure of your own to compare quotes with, it takes a tape measure and a few minutes.
- Measure each window's width and height in metres.
- Multiply the width by the height for each one.
- Add the results together, and do the same for any doors.
- Window or door 1–

Get A Quote For The Windows You Actually Want
Along with the count and your suburb, use the notes box on the quote form to tell us what you have in mind. Then the ballpark is for the windows you want.
The Frame
Our frames are aluminium, in the ML86, ML102 or ML102-TB series. ML102-TB is thermally broken, meaning an insulating strip runs through the frame. Tell us if you want the thermal break, and read how thermally broken windows work first if you're not sure.
How They Open
Awning windows hinge at the top, casement windows at the side, and sliding windows run on a track. Doors slide, fold back like a concertina as bifolds, or turn on pins as pivot doors. Our double glazed windows and the doors we supply cover every type.
The Glass
You choose the glass. Low-E glass has a thin coating that reflects heat, and argon filled glass has a heavy gas sealed in the gap between the panes. Laminated glass holds together if it breaks, acoustic glass is laminated with a layer that damps sound, and tinted glass cuts glare. Our guide to glass options for double glazing explains each one.
A Few Photos
Photos of the windows from inside and outside show us what's coming out and what's around it.
Comparing Double Glazing Quotes
Quotes are easier to compare once you know the square metres they cover. Divide each quote's total by the square metres, and you get a price per square metre you can line up against the others.
Check what each quote includes: the frame series, whether the frames are thermally broken, the glass, and who measures and installs.
With us, we measure every window and our own install team fits them. The products are supplied to AS 2047, the Australian Standard for windows, and AS 1288, the Standard for glass.
Pricing For Builders And Owner-Builders
We supply and install windows and doors for small builders and owner-builders who want to spend less on them. The price is worked out the same way, on square metres, and confirmed on your quote after we measure.
On a new build, our install team usually has the windows in within a day to a day and a half. Project documents for AS 2047, AS 1288, AS/NZS 2208 (safety glass) and AS 4666 (sealed double glazed units) are available on request.

Double Glazing Cost Questions
How Do I Get A Price Per Square Metre For My House?
Send us your count and suburb and we'll come back with a ballpark. Divide it by your square metres to get your price per square metre.
Is The Ballpark The Final Price?
No. The ballpark comes from your count and photos. The price is confirmed on your quote after we measure every window.
Why Does A Sliding Door Cost More Than A Small Window?
We price on size in square metres, so a big sliding door has far more glass and frame in it than a bathroom window. Your quote shows the square metres, so you can check the sum.
